Lucille Palm Springs was reimagined and rebranded in 2023, but its history stretches back over 100 years. Originally built in 1921, the hotel has been welcoming guests for a century, including Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, who once frequented the hotel with their family. The original Spanish Revival-style bones of the hotel have been lovingly maintained, though the recent facelift has updated all of the hotel’s amenities. Lucille Palm Springs now features nine self-catered luxury suites with modern appliances and locally-sourced fabrics and toiletries.

Located near downtown Palm Springs, minutes from the airport, bus station or tram. The hosts offer Japanese-style rooms with a private bath, TV, handmade futons to give you the most wonderful sleep of your life, and sliding shoji doors that lead to the garden and swimming pool area that offer a magnificent mountain view.

The atmosphere at the Inn is very distinct, quiet and relaxing. Guests can wear Japanese kimonos and slippers. Beautiful Japanese artwork and antique kimonos decorate the wall space. Delicate musical sounds of the koto and bamboo wood flute can be faintly heard throughout the Inn. Shaitsu, a centuries old Japanese acupressure massage, is available for your relaxation.

Built in 1947, Villa Royale emerged in Palm Springs during a period of Post-World War II development in the Coachella Valley. Adding a small pool of guestrooms to the south end of Palm Springs alongside the Deep Well Guest Ranch and Smoke Tree Ranch, Villa Royale was an early small hotel in south Palm Springs. Owned and managed by a woman by the name of Evelyn Pell, family lore has it that the California ranch-style hotel took its name from the first initials of Evelyn’s children – Valorie and Richard. You can stay at The Evelyn Pell Villa, a private residence with its own hot tub and garden.

With 38 rooms total – each with a unique look and feel – guests can expect new mahogany woodwork, vintage mid-century furniture and original oil paintings. Plus, in-room cocktail parlors with liquor, mixers, cocktails books and tools.  Designer Anne L’Esperance also sprinkled colorful, graphic tile from Portugal, Spain and Mexico throughout the property.

Villa Royale is accommodating to pets, too. Amenities include in-room pet beds and plush dog toys, dog and cat food, custom-made dog tags and in-room VIP (Very Important Pet) door hangers.

Electra bikes are complementary for guests to explore Palm Springs.
