As soon as guests step on property at Holiday House, they can’t help but smile. It’s a fun hotel, reimagined in 2017 by interior designer Mark D. Sikes. Built in 1951 by Herbert W. Burns, Holiday House has 28 guest rooms, all completely remodeled with oversized showers, Waterworks bath hardware, and Malin + Goetz bath amenities; some also have private outdoors spaces and Smeg appliances. The property is decorated in calming shades of blue, and visitors will spot intricate tilework and art by Roy Liechtenstein and David Hockney, among other notable names. Holiday House is a 28-room boutique hotel located in downtown Palm Springs. Originally opened in 1951, the hotel was designed by noted architect Herbert W. Burns. Today, it has been reimagined by interior designer Mark D. Sikes and the team behind Sparrows Lodge. The property features midcentury inspired elements combined with a communal atmosphere and whimsical edge. The design centers around Gio Ponti inspired tile-work in the bar and artwork throughout the property including pieces by David Hockney, Roy Liechtenstein, Herb Ritts, Alex Katz and Mr. Brainwash, with a garden sculpture by Donald Sultan.
